The chronicles of the dark avengerâ„¢
Dash and Jeff peered over the edge of the cliff quietly. There was a very long strip of mountains seperating the Legion of Oscura from the Legion of Ligera. These mountains were inhabitated by unspeakable abominations and other creatures. You had to be either really brave or stupid to venture in the mountains alone. However, there was one strip of land that was isolated by the creatures. This is because the land was covered with poisonous gases, chemicals and monsters worse than those in the mountains. This was the place where all the failed experiments of Ligera went to. Ligera took the oppoturnity and used that land as a portal between the two Legions. He collected money for people to go to and fro from the Legions. It also served as a greater purpose for the main path of invading the Legion of Oscura. So, Oscura had no choice but to also place soldiers a few meters from the portal as a precaution. The portal was heavily guarded by soldiers and Ligera's failed experiments. This was the only way that Dash and Jeff would get into the Legion of Ligera. They had been observing the shifts of the guards for the past few days. The monsters were always there, day or night. They did not even need food, water or rest. The soldiers however, were human after all. There was a change in shifts every three hours, so there was slight lack of security during these period. However, the change was only for two minutes. Dash and Jeff had to work fast, really fast. Jeff said, "Thirty seconds to the change." Dash replied, "Good, prepare yourself. The monsters must be taken out quick and effectively." Jeff rolled a small silver ball in his hand and said, "Of course." The silver ball was actually stolen by Dash from a careless guard. They had seen the guards use it before. The ball was remotely activated and would send a rich black cloud around a certain vicinity. After a ten seconds, it will let out a bolt of electricity enough to stun, but not kill. As the cloud could conduct electricity, the unlucky creatures in the cloud would be knocked out, as Dash would say, quick and effectively. Jeff broke the silence and counted down, "Five, four, three, two, one!" Dash snatched the ball from Jeff's fingers and loaded it on his recently self-made catapult. He closed one of his eyes and pulled on the elastic band on the two-prong stick, aiming at one of the slimy creatures lumbering around the portal. As the last guard past through the portal, Jeff said, "Now!" Dash shot the silver ball immediately. It flew through the air at sixty kilometers per hour and struck the slimy creature right on the head. It gave a high-pitched scream before thumping onto the ground. The other monsters started to lumber towards the unconcious creature in astonishment. Dash murmmed, "They are not going in fast enough. The guards would return before there get close enough for the smoke to get them! " Jeff said, "I can take care of that." He started to slide down the cliff before Dash could even respond. The area around the portal was actually just a platinium roof with several chairs under it. The portal was right behind the roof. There were several turrets surrounding the area. So, the whole area was very insecure as an attack could come from any direction. Ligera was planning to upgrade the facility but could not be bothered to do so. He would rather risk the life of his men than waste his time on a useless portal. Although lots of people were coming to and fro from the portal, its use for the military was long gone. They were developing flying machines that could hopefully pass throught the ever changing weather in the mountains and the monsters in it. Jeff reached the bottom of the cliff in a matter of seconds and sprinted towards the fallen creature. The other monsters saw him and started to increase their pace. Their slimy footsteps heard clearly as they advance closer towards Jeff. A monster that was made from weird green stuff oozing out of its body shot its hand at Jeff. Jeff ducked and quickly jumped away from the monsters as they growled in a gurgly voice. Jeff felt no fear as he stared into the monsters' eyes, which looked seemingly human. He smiled at them before disappearing behind the shadows, giving a 'good to go' sign to Dash. Dash anxiously pressed the trigger. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Dash's heart sank, was the ball defective? He pressed it repeatedly again, praying that the ball would work. Finally, there was a hissing sound as gas released from the ball, enveloping the creatures. Growls of confusion could be heard as the monsters tried to find their way around. After ten seconds, light could be seen lighting up the dark cloud as it glowed. Growls of confusion quickly became cries of pain as one by one thumping sounds could be heard. That was the cue to move as Dash slid down the cliff with ease. Jeff was already beside the portal and beckoning him to hurry. Dash sprinted towards the portal as soon as his feet touched the ground, carefully avoiding the electric smoke. Jeff dove into the watery portal right after Dash had gone past the smoke. He felt a icy cold sensation before emerging from the other side of the portal. Jeff was immediately rooted to the spot. The Legion of Ligera was not as he had imagined from the tales of the other assasins. There were pods zooming through the air and huge snake like vehicles floating on tracks that were zooming past faster than the pods. The snake-like vehicles looked like the trains in the Legion of Oscura, only much bigger, faster and scsary-looking. There were huge structures towering high above all these and small structures teeming with people. Jeff felt someone bang into him as he fell to the ground...
